Simply put we took what didn't work, and fixed it. Run by S'eidr Lovell & I'lydia Dahl we found ourselves unsatisfied with what the FF community offered FC wise. It was either a larger FC with a focus on content but lacking in lore friendly RP, or a small FC that while lore friendly lacked in content due to size...Why couldn't we have both? Using years of running discord RP servers, Mega game guilds ranging from EvE to Destiny 2, and other numerous communities we strove to create something different while learning from the past and incorporating years of lessons learned into a final product...That product was STAR. From our character workshops where we assist in ensuring lore friendliness and helping people brainstorm ideas, to the way our admin team operates and the resources we offer we are a type unto ourselves. We stand apart from the crowd and we are proud to be different. One of the original ideas to STAR that we are damned proud of is how we do our map nights. We all split into parties every Tuesday, decked in golden glams on the sexier side for fun and each person usually brings 3 of each map for that night. FC Plot: (Shirogane, Ward 10 Plot 37)

"Many times it's about the journey's experiences and people you meet along the way rather than the end destination."We have the following RP Types available at STAR. Pretty self explanatory, informal RP done on FC grounds or events with no specific goal or plot in mind. Usually of a one on one or small group nature.Rapid Events
These are formal events, usually an hour or two long in nature that are pre-planned and guided by a DM with a specific goal in mind. Goals can range from fun slice of life style aims, to plot furthering developments of the main arc.Causal Exploration
These events are pre-planned, however they do not have any bearing on the main story plot. Usually they involve a picked ruins site in the open world or taking groups through dungeons in explorer mode or unsynced. Think of them as the filler between major plot RP to help with something to RP during the delay.Casual RP Nights
Very similar to rapid events, with the exception no specific goal is given, only a vague intent of why they are there and the rest is up to the players with no heavy DM guidance. In the past these have been located in exhibits, the lounge, and in less adventure style open world settings or RP venues we have found.Main Plot Arc
These are the main FC story arc, or current plot. They do take significant time to plan and arrange so are not as common as the other types given the level of effort and research put into them. They are generally DM guided and can span multiple RP sessions and events. Characters are required to make the initial briefing to attend each plot (we host several to account for schedules prior to plot launch). If a character cannot make an event session after the initial briefing we simply consider them off running for provisions or similar during that session."What is the Character Workshop?"
We are aware that not all characters are lore friendly, and while we do not wish to restrict anyone in what they can and cannot do on their own time, we do require all characters taking part in FC RP be lore friendly. To this extent we made the Character Workshop, a one on one space with admin to assist with this in a constructive and supportive manner. This is not a 'compliance check' as some FCs do, but rather a space for you to ask questions and work with the admin and RP team should you need. For some people this is a quick look over and done, for others its a whole creative process we are happy to be a part of - Even those who never RPed and would like to are encouraged to open a workshop and we can help teach and guide! Even if the character is completely lore shattering, the most we request in these instances is a separate tab be made on the profile for the FC RP, again we do not care what you do on your own time, only in regards to the FC plot. This is by far one of our most praised aspects to our FC in regards to feedback and regarding how easy and supportive the process is!

"That's a lot of Rules..."Why yes it is! However if you see most are common sense and boil down to being a decent person. We believe in transparency, hence the creation of a clear and comprehensive rule set that removes the room for personal bias or subjective potential (This is also why we post our rules publicly). All rules are enforced equally regardless of who you are.

General Rules & Discord Rules1) Star Members are required to maintain membership in Discord server.
Discord is the social and administrative backbone of STAR, for this reason membership is mandatory. If you do not wish to be part of this then we will be more than happy to find you an alternative FC. We do not make many announcements, do not mute the announcement channel.2) Do NOT Ping Administration directly via @mentions, DM, or tells.
Responding to something said via the reply feature is acceptable, so long as it is relevant to what is being discussed. If you have a question or concern for the administration team this can be posted in the 'questions for admin' channel or submitted via a Concerns/Grievance form found in the 'contact admin' channel and an admin will contact you or respond accordingly. An emergency can be defined as the following:- Imminent threat of harm to STAR members or FC Property
- Third party threats to STAR in game (Example: AoE Griefing on FC grounds)3) Adhere to Proper escalation for any issues.
Given how large STAR has become, we have in place a chain of command. As such all matters of a non emergency matter should be first discussed with the appropriate officers and from there will be escalated if need be. For issues please contact the following:- RP & Lore related questions: 'questions for admin' channel
- RP Concerns/Grievances: RP Officers or grievance form found in 'forms and applications' channel
- Game Mechanics & Gameplay questions: 'questions for admin' channel
- Content Concerns/Grievances (ie Loot disputes, etc): Content Officers or grievance form found in 'forms and applications' channel
- Player Disputes/Grievances that do not meet the above: Flag Officers or grievance form in 'forms and applications' channel4) Be courteous to your fellow members
This is common sense, but any gaslighting, hate speech, bullying, or behavior found to be offensive is not allowed. If you feel that its probably not nice, it probably should not be said.5) Keep all political/heavily religious talk to DMs. This extends to the FC Chat and associated linkshells.
Please note we will not monitor or get involved in private DM conversations between members regarding this matter. Should you wish to engage another in this matter you are responsible for moderating your own emotions on the matter being discussed.6) Any issues that arise should be dealt with privately between the parties involved and the officers handling it.
In short, do not bring it up in FC chat or intentionally cause drama. Doing so is a good way to be removed.7) While this is a 18+ FC do not post pornography or pornographic links, anything illicit or illegal in the discord channels.
The exception to this is the NSFW category, however please note this category has its own rules regarding conduct and what can be posted.8) Please keep channels on topic in the discord server as much as possible. If an admin requests it be moved, move to the referenced channel.
To this extent, please take time to familiarize yourself with our channels, most have a brief description and important information pinned.9) Don't advertise for other websites or services in the discord server. Sharing your deviantart, or patreon if requested by another member is fine. Advertising is not permitted in general channels or the Star linkshell in game.
If you wish to advertise a venue or RP event please contact an RP officer (this is an exception to the direct DM rule). Please note we do not allow advertising of content only events or Adult venues.10) Seidr & Liddy are not available on Mondays.
We have both put a ton of time into building this FC and take Mondays as a day for us as we play FF to play with each other. Do not contact either during this time.11) Real Life ALWAYS comes first
Real life comes first no matter what. If someone has to bail on an activity, or is unable to make it do not shame them. Get over it and move on.12) RMT Activity or Promotion is STRICTLY BANNED within STAR
Simply put, its not fair to honest players, hurts the game, and is the equivalent of cheating. We exercise a zero tolerance policy in regards to RMT activity and offending individuals will be removed.13) Please notify Admin via an admin contact ticket should you decide to leave the FC.
This is for record keeping purposes and helps identify any shortcomings we may be able to work on in the future. You will not be pressured into staying as this is for our information only. Failure to do so will result in your permanent removal from this discord.14) Due to the nature of the FC house being an RP venue, all rooms must use the following formats:

General Officers

General Officers (GOs) are the right hand of the Curator & Starkeeper and are entrusted with all administrative functions and FC management in their stead. General Officers are selected from our existing pool of officers on a case by case basis. -FEY- Leadership carries the rank of General Officer in STAR for all intents and purposes.

Recruitment Officer

The Recruitment Officer (RO) oversees all recruitment operations for STAR as well as coordinates our recruitment staff to ensure potential member's questions are answered.

Content Officers

Content Officers (COs) are responsible for planning content related events each month and providing our members with a variety of available options ranging from low level to end game options.

RolePlay Officers

RP Officers (RPOs) are responsible for directing our story board team, hosting RP events, and planning the overall direction of the FC RP with the assistance of the Starkeeper and Curator.

Recruiters

These are no doubt one of the people who brought you here! They are responsible for bringing in new members, as well as broadcasting our recruitment shout to the world.

Story Board Team

The unsung heros of STAR. These individuals bear no official rank in our discord, but work behind the scenes to research lore and come up with new ideas for the FC plot and fun RP events under the direction of the RP Officers and Admin!

What we are looking for in a STAR member- Courteous and respectful of other players, toxic personalities need not apply.- A desire to make our FC their own and interact with our community through content, socializing, or Roleplaying- Fun people. We like to joke, laugh and play in case that is not clear from all the cat gifs...we like positive people who are like minded. <3- We do require you be on good terms with your prior FC. (IE don't bring drama to our doorstep, While we have a strict 'No Scalping' rule we understand sometimes people want to join us from another FC. If this fits you please leave your prior FC nicely and make your intent clear to avoid drama.)Roleplaying applicants will be admitted to the FC but must complete a character workshop prior to taking part in the FC RP plot. This is not required for FC membership, only FC Plot. (Workshop is to assist in any struggles you may be having with character ideas or help think up fun stuff while also assisting with lore adherence in a laid back teaching manner)

Roleplaying Rules of STAR
1) All Characters taking part in FC plot must be approved & Lore Compliant.
Simply put, we have an extensive character workshop to help you brainstorm if need be, but all characters participating in the FC's cannon story must be approved. In the event a character is extremely lore breaking a suggestion of a separate profile may be made. We do not care what you do in your own RP stories, but all FC RPs must be lore compliant.2) Keep IC & OOC Separate.
What happens in character does not reflect the views of the player. Know this difference. In character (IC) interactions do not constitute relationships or views of the player outside of their character (OOC aka RL views). Bottom Line, the FC is not a dating service and FF is not real life.3) No God-modding, Meta-gaming, Etc.
Don't use OOC knowledge your character wouldn't know in RP. Don't auto-hit others, be invincible, etc etc. If you are corrected by an admin on this please take this as a learning opportunity to improve your RP.4) Consent should always be used, and requested, for OOC and IC situations that involve any overly dark or mature themes. No means No.
If you are unsure if people are okay with something, you should ask. This applies for OOC and IC interaction with potentially sensitive situations. If you are uncomfortable with something, tell them directly to stop and the other party is expected to stop. No means no and we expect it to be honored if someone tells you no.5) Do not be offended if the RP does not go as you intended.
While some try to plan, many RPers react specifically with how their character would. If your character says or does something that derails the scene from what was planned, role with it rather than getting upset your idea didn't work.6) IC Actions = IC Consequences.
Draw a weapon on someone? Expect potential retaliation and / or calling of the local city's guards if you're in one of the city hubs. Aka Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...If in doubt, ask would someone realistically do this in the real world, and if so what are the potential outcomes?7) No Erotic Roleplay (ERP) in public or soliciting ERP in FC channels.
If you're gonna do the do, do it in party chat and inside a house/room behind a locked door. Sexual conduct is not allowed inside public areas of the FC or its channels/linkshells.8) Respect the Stardust Venue.
Our FC house is an open public venue open 24/7. While in the FC respect your fellow RPers by refraining from spamming AoEs, Overuse of Mounts, etc. The training dummy is placed behind the FC house for a reason.9) All RP on Stardust grounds is Public RP.
In short, if you are using our venue for RP, or a room within you are expected to be using /em to provide a conducive and welcoming environment. Cliques are not tolerated within Stardust and RP on our grounds is open for all approved members to join.10) Star Administration has final determination for lore within the FC plot.
The game lore changes, as such we strive to stay up to date however there are some things that are restricted (Fantasia, Voidsent, Echo, etc). Star admin has final say of what is allowed in our FC canon and what is not regardless of what other FCs may allow in theirs. Example: Fantasia does not exist in lore, if you fanta please bring it up to an RP officer and most likely it will be a 'They have always been that' type scenario. Voidsent anything be prepared for extensive questioning due to the nature of such.11) Some classes require a soul stone, some don't...some are downright illegal in lore.
Some soul stones are rare, some excessively so, some are downright illegal lore wise to own (WHM/BLM)...and some are practically thrown at anyone who signs up for that job in lore (MCH). Please view the channel in the workshop category in discord for an explanation of RP restricted classes and suggestions if in doubt regarding your desired class or stone availability. We try our best to stay up to date on lore and analyzing job quests to determine soul stone rarity. If your not sure we can help out with this and figuring things out in the workshop!

Below are some commonly asked questions potential members or new members may haveQ) How active is the FC membership as a whole?
A) Our members are highly active and our peak times are usually 4pm - 2am EST. We usually see 6 - 7 online around 10am - 4pm EST, and around 12 - 15+ consistently during the evenings with a very active discord during all hours.Q) What is the overall story/theme of the FC?
A) The FC is centered around the Stardust Keep Museum. While the overall story of the museum is centered around the museum's explorations and academic pursuits, most story arcs typically include the usual mystery, villain, etc. In addition to overall arcs there also also many opportunities for random RP, just ask people! Also we hold a weekly 'RP Day' where members are encouraged to come interact ICly to help further character development. We also aim to hold most events in the open world in areas most can access easily.Q) What types of characters are you looking for?
A) While obviously some types are better suited to specific functions than others, we encourage all types as we balance plots and events to try to best encompass something for everyone, in short play what you like, we can easily find a way to make it fit so long as its lore friendly. This is also the reason the FC has Stardust Museum, as well as Pegasus Corps to account for all types of characters.Q) I have seen some FCs that say RP, but then turn out to be adult themed in nature. Is this what your RP is or what you mean by 18+?
A) This is sadly a more common question than some may believe, and it honestly shocks us that so many are forced into ERP (erotic role play) or pressured into it by their FC. While ERP is permitted among consenting adults, we require it be away from the public eye and behind closed doors (We match SE's ToS when it comes to ERP) and DO NOT condone FCs that behave in a manner that pressures or forces members to participate. Yes we are 18+ but this is due to a maturity and legality issue as it is one less thing FC admin would have to police. STAR has never and will never host or endorse ERP events of any kind, furthermore per our rules should a non consensual matter come to our attention the offender will be removed.Q) What type of content events do you have?
A) We have weekly map nights, RP nights, as well as many other non regular events such as minion farms, mount farms, raids, Endgame content, etc. While we do not have an official static given we believe participation and learning should be open to all, we do feature a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to learn and clear end game content (Ex/Ult/Savage) in should you desire.Q) What is the RP like? Is it console player friendly? What if I do not know much about lore?
A) RP on FC grounds/events is done by turn order to avoid PS4 players not being able to respond. While we encourage purchase of the keyboard, it is not required. In regards to lore don't worry! We try to guide RP and are very knowledgeable. We also have a workshop to help iron out anything for characters that is very highly spoken of! In the workshop we help in explaining lore questions, as well working towards an awesome carrd if you don't have one already!

STAR's own permanent Photo Studio for our Gpose enthusiasts. Hosted in the same ward/subdivision as our FC house it is a quick walk up the hill and open 24x7x365 for everyone! Boasting 3 separate scenes, as well as 3 quick booth setups it provides an excellent spot to play with new poses or explore your creative side!

The following is for RP purposes in regards to the organizational structure in verse. It does not reflect the way the FC is structured outside of RP.

The headquarters of Pegasus Corps and the philanthropy project of the Dahl family, it was originally based in Limsa before moving to the Empyreum, and finally with the darkness of the Final Days, was moved to Shirogane to be closer to the DTC main offices. It is home to the paramilitary security force but also is complete with a lecture hall, cafe, night club downstairs, and many exhibits. Originally the desire of I'lydia, oldest daughter of I'mran Tia (adopted) and Ilania Dahl, it was created for the young heiress as both a wedding gift for her and her wife, in addition to exposing her to the finer workings of business. Since its inception on a summer night beneath the stars, Stardust Keep has grown and prospered under S'eidr Lovell's watchful eye as head administrator.

The Pegasus Corps was recently rebranded by the DTC once it became known that I'lydia and S'eidr had begun to hire their own security forces to escort various relics to and from the museum in Shirogane. While both mother and father did not object to this, it was easy to see the successful deployment of museum security forces in an almost paramilitary role displayed that both I'lydia and S'eidr were ready to take on greater responsibility. Rather than have the 'DSF' or 'Dahl Security Forces' takeover security operations at the museum and roll the Pegasus Corps into it, the Dahls instead opted to formalize the Museum's security force into its own paramilitary force capable of taking on all sorts of contracts. When prompted for a name I'lydia was the first one to eagerly shout out "Pegasus!" and both naming and emblem have stuck to this day. Despite its relatively new arrival in the world of mercenaries, the Pegasus Corps has already distinguished itself as being a grade above many, with high standards and an excellent mission first mentality.

While having very little effect on the day to day operations of the museum, the Dahl Trading Consortium, or DTC as it is shortened, is a massive trading organization started and created by Ikania Dahl, I'lydia's great-great grandmother. Based in Thavnair it steadily increased its scope of influence until it rivaled that of even the largest Eorzean based trading syndicates, with dozens of smaller businesses and organizations under its umbrella it boasts an impressive transport network of airships and sailing vessels capable of delivering Stardust museum staff of Pegasus Corps members wherever they need go. A household name in the near east, its recent in roads into Eorzea have seen its popularity rise due to its more humanitarian nature compared to most other Eorzean based organizations having answered the call of chaos many times to deliver aide to those in need within its sphere of influence through material supply donations or in some cases even volunteer manpower. It is a massive behemoth of an organization, and while profit is its primary goal it has maintained a large amount of charitable endeavors to both better their world and also spread goodwill towards the consortium.
